Police arrested two persons for allegedly looting iron rods from factories in the district.

The accused -- identified as Raj Kishor Sharma of Bulandshar and Akram of Masuri in Ghaziabad -- had been evading arrest for long, a police officer said today.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested the duo from near Aatma Ram Crossing in Kavinagar area last night and seized 1,000 kg of iron rods and a truck from their possession.

"The accused have confessed to the crime," the officer said, adding that a case has been registered against them at the Kavinagar police station.
