Police arrest two Rajasthan Univ profs in paper leak case

The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police today arrested eight persons including two serving and one retired professor of the Rajasthan University for allegedly being involved in an examination question paper leak racket.

According to the police officials, the arrested include the varsity's head of department of Geography Jagdish Prasad Jat, another professor Govind Pareek and a retired professor B L Gupta.

The others arrested include Kali Charan, a lecturer posted Hanumangarh district, a professor at Bikaner University N S Modi, his son Nipun Modi, an employee of Jaipur-based book depot Sharad and another person named Shambhu Dayal.
 

"Those who were given responsibility of maintaining secrecy of examination papers were found involved leaking paper through various means," ADG SOG, Umesh Mishra told reporters in a press conference as he gave these details about the arrests.

He said that further arrests in connection to the case cannot be ruled out.

A team has been sent to Bandikui and three persons have been detained for interrogation in the matter. Action will be taken if they are found involved in the corrupt practice, said Mishra.

Investigation had showed that the accused were involved in paper leak of M.Com (final) paper of Bikaner University, Geography paper-1 and 2 of BA Part-3 and ABST Paper of MA Previous course of Rajasthan University in past two months, the police officials claimed.
