Praveen, a resident of village Kathura in Haryana's Sonepat, was handed over by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials after they caught him while he was undertaking the test at their battalion camp in Ghaziabad near here.

A senior CISF officer said that another person, identified as Nithu, had yesterday taken the physical fitness test under the same name.

"After the impersonation was detected, he was handed over to the police which booked him for cheating and other charges under the provisons of the IPC," the officer said.

The police are further probing the case, he said.

The CISF, a central police force under the Union Home Ministry, is mandated to guard strategic installations like airports, nuclear and aerospace establishments apart from rendering a variety of internal security duties.
