Police arrests 4 auto-lifters; recovers 20 stolen two-wheelers

With the arrest of four persons, police today claimed to have busted a gang of vehicle-lifters active in Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad and recovered 20 stolen two-wheelers from them.

Those arrested have been identified as Saleem - a resident of Delhi, Mohseen, Sachin Choudhary and Pankaj - all residents of Meerut and aged between 25 and 32 years, they said.

"Police got a tip-off that some wanted vehicle-lifters were coming towards Shakti Khand-3 near Shiv temple last night. They would commit crime in Delhi-NCR," said a senior police officer.

A trap was laid and all four accused were arrested.

Police has recovered 18 stolen motorbikes, two scooty and a country-made pistol from their possession.
 

All the accused have confessed to their involvement in a number of crime.

"We are now interrogating them about hideouts of their accomplices, who would be arrested soon," officer added.
