Police arrested five persons and seized illicit liquor from them in Akhnoor tehsil of Jammu district, a police officer said today.
A police team conducted a raid in the shop of Jiya Lal, Ravishan Singh and Jagdev Singh of Pallanwala border belt of Akhnoor tehsil and seized 400 pouches of smuggled liquor from their possession, the officer said.
The accused were arrested from the spot and liquor seized, they said adding that a case registered at Police Station Khour and investigation of the case is going on.
In another case, police arrested Davinder Singh and Sohan Singh of Lehar area of Tehsil Akhnoor and seized illicit liquor from today, they said adding that a case has been registered.
