Police arrests four drug peddlers in north Kashmir

Police today arrested four alleged drug peddlers and recovered banned drugs from them in Chandoosa and Boniyar areas of Baramulla district of north Kashmir.

"Continuing with efforts to eradicate the drug menace from the society, police on a specific information arrested four notorious and chronic drug peddlers from Chandoosa and Boniyar areas of Baramulla district," a police official said.

He said 'contraband substance', which was meant to be supplied to the youth of the area, was recovered from the possession of arrested peddlers.

The arrested persons have been identified as Abdul Hassan Shiekh, Abdul Rashid Dar, Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir and Sikander Khan.
 

Cases have been registered against them under the relevant sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the official added.
