With the arrest of four persons police today claimed to have busted a gang involved in theft of over two dozen luxury vehicles from Delhi NCR area.
The anti auto theft squad (AATS) team investigating a case of car theft from South Campus, managed to arrest three persons Mohammad Salman (27), Mohammad Aftab (23), and Mohammad Mehtab (25), on January 3, said Ishwar Singh, DCP(south).
A stolen car was recovered from their possession. During investigation they disclosed that Dilawar Singh, was the kingpin of their gang.

The arrested accused disclosed that they used to dismantle stolen cars in a godown at Kaweri Colony near Meerut Bypass. In a raid at the godown one stolen Honda City car and dismantled parts of Fortuner, Scorpio and other luxury vehicles were found there. A stolen motorcycle was also recovered from the godown.
After lifting vehicles they used to dismantle its various parts and sell the same in scrap market at Sotiganj in Meerut. They used to leave Delhi within an hour of vehicle theft, he added.
