A man was arrested by police for allegedly kidnapping a farmer for ransom in Palamau district, a senior police officer said today.
The accused Dilip Chauhan was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a farmer. The farmer was released by Chauhan only after his family paid a ransom of Rs one lakh, Superintendent of Police, Indrajeet Mahatha said.
Chauhan was arrested by police from a place under the jurisdiction of Mahammadgung police station, the SP said adding police was in search of four accomplices of Chauhan, who are reportedly at large.
