A notorious criminal carrying a reward of Rs 20,000 on his head was today arrested here, a senior police officer said.
The arrested criminal, Raja Sharma alias Rajan Sharma alias Sonu, an aide of slained gangster Paramjit Singh, was arrested on the basis of an confidential information, said Senior Superintendent of Police Anoop T Mathew.
Addressing a press conference here, Mathew said Sonu was arrested when he was conspiring to commit a criminal offence in Olidih but was arrested by the police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (Patamda), Ajay Kerketta.

In January 2015, Mathew said, Sonu had gone to the house of his rival Manoj Singh and had gunned down Manoj's father Surendra Singh as Manoj was not at home.
Since then, Sonu was at large, forcing the police to announce the reward, he said.
He was wanted by police in 10 cases including four murder cases, three attempt to murder and extortion incidents, Mathew added.
