Police arrests two thieves in Samba

Police today arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in cases of robbery, and recovered a large quantity of stolen items from them in Samba district of Jammu region.

On specific information, a police team headed by Sub Inspector Imran Khan arrested Surinder Kumar and Ved Prakash, both residents of Samba, a police officer said.

The accused were wanted in several cases of theft in the area, he said.

"On their disclosure, police recovered the stolen items including 37 grams of gold ornaments, two gas cylinders and other items amounting to around one lakh rupees," he said.

He said that the accused had recently robbed a house in the area as the inmates of the house had gone to attend a marriage function in Jammu.
 

The accused have been booked under several sections of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC), he said.
