Police asked to file FSL report to Commission

The Superintendent of Police, Jaintia Hills district, was asked to submit the FSL report of the post mortem before the next hearing of the Justice (Rtd) S P Rajkhowa Commission which is probing the jailbreak here.

Justice Rajkhowa have also requested the Forensic Laboratory in Guwahati to cooperate with the police officer in despatching the FSL report to the Commission within a week's time.

Fullmoon Dhar had led an escape from the Shillong District Jail on May 31, 2009 along with seven other under-trial prisoners.

Dhar was shot dead the following day by the police in Jaintia Hills district. The way in which Dhar was shot dead sparked allegations of fake encounter.

 

The suspicion was given an added impetus after the re-captured prisoners who were with Dhar admitted that he was killed in a fake encounter.

Subsequently, the government ordered a judicial probe into the jailbreak and the circumstances leading to Dhar
