Police avert child marriage, two held

The police succeeded in averting a child marriage and arrested two persons allegedly involved in the case here in the district.

According to police, an unknown caller alerted the police saying that preparations were in progress at Rui village for a child marriage yesterday, Superintendent of Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma said.

The SP instructed the Police Station Officer(PSO) of Digras Waghu Khillare to take immediate action.

Accordingly, the PSO and his team reached the village and arrested two persons, namely, Ratan Titare, a resident of Dahod district in Gujarat and Myalsingh Malani, a resident of village Rui in Yavatmal district after registering a criminal offence under relevant sections of IPC, police said.
