Police awaiting for autopsy report & inquiry report

Delhi Police is awaiting the autopsy report and the magisterial inquiry report in the alleged custodial death of a 24-year-old man in northwest Delhi's Adarsh Nagar police station.

Five policemen, including the SHO of the police station were suspended and an FIR was lodged against the erring cops.

"A three-member AIIMS board conducted Som Lal's autopsy and the report is awaited. A magisterial inquiry is also underway and conclusions will only be drawn after the reports come," said a senior police officer.

If policemen are found guilty in the magisterial enquiry, strict action will be taken against them, he added.
 

While there have been reports that the SHO took Som Lal's body to dispose off in his car, the officer said that it is still a matter of inquiry and nothing has been confirmed on it as of now.

Five policemen, including the SHO of Adarsh Nagar police station in northwest Delhi for allegedly trying to hush up a 'suicide' of an accused in the police station.

The erring cops are claiming that Som Lal was scared during inquiry and jumped off the terrace of the police station while the deceased's family alleged that he was tortured and killed in custody.
