Police book 250 people for stone pelting in Muzaffarnagar

Police today registered a case against 250 people for stone pelting and injuring three people during the incident here.

Among those who were booked, police named 30 people, including BJP activist Nitin Malik for pelting stones and blocking roads.

Three persons were injured yesterday when police tried to disperse a mob protesting against the arrest of a youth in, allegedly involved in a gang rape case during the riots last year.

Police yesterday arrested Roki from Phugana village, following which irritated villagers resorted to stone pelting and gheraoed the police station.

The irate villagers also tried to free the accused from the police, who took to lathicharge to disperse the crowd.
