Four youth were booked today for rash driving and performing stunts with their bikes and putting life and property of the people in danger, police said here.

Police seized four bikes from Parraypora-Hyderpora area of the city and booked the bikers for performing stunts, a police spokesman said.

He said the police booked the bikers for rash driving besides for violation of other provisions of Motor Vehicle Act.

These bikers were reported to be performing stunts on the road thereby endangering life and property of other people using the road, the spokesman said.

He said all the bikes seized were without number plates and the riders had removed tail and mudguard of the hind wheel so that it does not touch the road while performing stunts.

This year, the spokesman said, Police Station Sadder has taken cognizance of 248 violations of Motor Vehicle Act in which most of the cases involve motorcycles.

In most of these cases, the spokesman said, parents of the bikers found violating the provisions of Motor Vehicle Act were called and apprised about the behavior of their children.

Police has requested the parents of the violators to keep a vigil on their wards, the spokesman said.

He said the parents may advise their wards to ride motorcycles as per norms and see if they have modified the bike in any manner or removed a part of their bike.
