Four members of a gang were arrested for allegedly stealing motorcycles in the district, while the fifth member is absconding, police said today.
Police have also recovered five motorcycles from their possession.
These motorcycles were stolen from different places in Balrampur andShrawasti districts. Four persons were arrested while one is still out of police's reach, Superintendent of police Dr.Vimal Kumar Srivastava said.
Police caught the gangsters during a raid near Chini Mill Balrampur. Various intoxicants and local wine bottles were also recovered from them, Srivastava added.
The accused have been identified as Rahul Shukla, Pooran lal Yadav, Ajai Kumar Awasthi and Sandeep Kumar Verma, police said.
The fifth member is yet to be arrested, they added.
