Police bust fake job racket, nab kingpin

Police today arrested the alleged lynchpin of a gang which use to dupe youths by promising them jobs in Army, police and Para Military Forces.

The gang members forged documents and used them as genuine ones, SSP Jatinder Singh Khaira said here.

The arrested kingpin of the gang identified as Kuldeep Singh has confessed to his crime.

He and his accomplices had taken a house on rent at Tapa in Barnala district where they had kept police, Army and ITBPF uniforms, badges and other material to dupe people with the assurance of employment, the SSP said.

Two police parties had been sent to different places to arrest other members of the gang.
 

The SSP said the gang members had so far duped around 40-50 people of lakhs of rupees.
