A gang of three vehicle lifters was busted, after a brief exchange of fire with a police party, near a bridge at Kamsan village here.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted the gang last evening, Station Officer of Kotwali dehat Vinod Kumar said.
Two country-madepistols, cartridges and two motorcycles were also recovered from their possession, he said.
The miscreants surrendered following the brief exchange of fire, he added.
The accused have been identified as Bantoo Yadav of Bhadua villagein Kotwali Pilua, Girishof Sabhapur village in Nidholikalan Kotwali and Lakhan of Nidholikalan, said the SO.
He also said that an FIR has been lodged against the three over the alleged firing on police party and probe is on to get the details of recovered motorcycles.
