Police bust sex racket

Four women hailing from the

Southern states, engaged in the flesh trade, were rescued while five persons who used them for running the racket across various locations in the city were arrested today in separate incidents.

Police rescued a woman, hailing from Bangalore from an apartment at Nungambakkam and two persons arrested for the crime,a police release said.

Initial investigations revealed that the duo used online portals to attract customers and the girl used to fly down from Bangalore to Chennai, it said.

Similarly, a woman from Andhra Pradesh and another from Chennai were also rescued and police nabbed a person for running the racket at an apartment in T Nagar, it said.
 

In the third incident, two persons were arrested for running a similar racket in Poonamalee. The woman hailing from Kerala was also rescued from them, it said.

Police have issued a stern warning that strict action would be taken against those who run sex rackets in apartments and bungalows, it added.
