Police busts betting racket, arrests two, seizes Rs 50000

Police today claimed have busted a cricket betting racket here and arrested two persons who were allegedly accepting bets on the India-Pakistan match being played during ICC Cricket World Cup at Melbourne.

The accused were identified as Manol Jain and Chandresh Jain and Rs 50000 in cash were recovered from their possession, City CO-Police Satish Yadav said.

Apart from cash, mobiles, papers and other electronic gadgets were also recovered from them when they were caught red-handed in a raid at Nihalganj area of the city, Yadav said.

In another development, a wanted man Patirag, who had been absonding from a local court in Dholpur district was arrested from Baseri yesterday.
 

A cash reward of Rs 2000 was announced for giving information of the accused, police said.
