The district police today cautioned the public against falling prey to cheats who send messages on phone luring them with money.

"Some miscreants are making phone calls and sending SMSes on mobile numbers and indulging in cheating by informing that they have won money," Karimnagar District Superintendent of Police D Joel Davis told reporters.

"By making the calls they are demanding the public to transfer some money towards expenses. It is clearly cheating, no one gives free money without any cause," Davis said.

"Be careful about anonymous calls and mails," he said.

The SP also appealed the public that while drawing money from the ATM centres, they should not show the PIN number to others.
