Police claims to have solved murder of senior citizen

Delhi Police today claimed to have solved the gruesome murder of a senior citizen in Vijay Vihar area recently, with the arrest of the accused from a hotel in Karol Bagh area.

The victim Herald Peter (63) was murdered at his home in Vijay Vihar Phase II, on June 11.

The accused Sonu Singh (26), a resident of Paschim Champaran in Bihar, was arrested from the hotel in Karol Bagh where he used to work.

He admitted his involvement in the crime. On the fateful day he first throttled the victim and then pierced a sharp poker in his chest when he was alone at the house, said Ravindra Yadav, Jt Commissioner of Police (Crime).
 

Sonu was angry with the live-in relationship of his sister with Peter's son Gladwin.

Sonu didn't leave Delhi immediately after killing Herald and was planning to kill his son Gladwin Peter also, said the officer.
