However, the police have recovered the assault weapon used in the crime following a lead provided by the main accused in the case, Hari Singh Gothiya who has already been arrested.
Sapotra Station House Officer, Murari Lal Meena today told reporters here that the hilly area where Gothiya had said he had dumped victim Pappu Sharma's severed arms had failed to yield the same even after police had conducted a thorough search at the spot.
Although Meena did confirm finding blood stains at the site, he added that there was a likelihood of wild animals having carried the severed limbs off given that it was a forested area.
Meena said that police were carrying out raids to nab the rest of the absconding accused in the case.
On December 7, the victim Sharma had both his arms chopped off allegedly over a property-related dispute at Baloti village of Karauli district.
