Police Commemoration Day observed in Odisha

Odisha DGP Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma today paid rich tributes to the policemen who were martyred while performing their duties between September 2016 and August this year.

Sharma also took salute at the 58th Police Commemoration Day which was observed across Odisha today.

Altogether 383 police and security personnel across the country as well as Central Paramilitary and Central Police organizations laid down their lives while performing their duties during the past one year.

Out of them, nine were from Odisha.

The DGP placed wreaths at the police memorial here and paid homage to the nine martyrs of the state.
 

Observed on October 21 every year, Police Commemoration Day remembers 10 policemen who were killed by the Chinese forces at Hot Springs, Ladakh.
