A police constable was held for allegedly gambling with eight other persons, police said.
Police constable K Balaraju attached with Gollapalli police station and eight others were caught yesterday while they were gambling at the outskirts of Chelgal village, Superintendent of Police D Joel Davis said.
Cash worth Rs 3.13 lakh was seized from their possession. A case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered against all the accused and investigations are underway, the officer said.
The arrested cop has been suspended pending inquiry, he said.
