A 22-year old man was today arrested in connection with the sensational murder of the wife of a popular city-based businessman here on July 8 last year, police said.
Vicky alias Vignesh Kannan was arrested after Serious Crime Squad Inspector Pethuraj zeroed in on him after investigating more than 250 persons in connection with the murder of Preethi Poppli.
Vicky and his associates Sivaneswaran, Senthil Arasu and Rajasekhar had entered the house of Preethi when she was alone and murdered her with the intention of robbing her.
But as she did not have any jewels,they took away the hundial in the pooja room.
Sivaneswaran and Arasu were absconding while Rajasekhar died recently, police said.
