Police crackdown on flesh trade

Six women hailing from different parts of the country, including Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Karnataka, were rescued from apartments and other places by the Anti-Vice Squad of the Chennai Police.

Besides, eight persons were arrested and three of them have been detained under Goondas Act as they were habitual offenders, a police release here said.

The rest of the arrested were remanded to judicial custody while the rescued women have been sent to a government care home, it added.
