Police have denied permission to producers of Tamil film 'Thalaiva', to hold a one-day fast to insist on the release of the movie in Tamil Nadu.
Police said one of the producers, in his request, said many cinema halls in the state have refused to screen the Vijay starrer movie pointing to some bomb threats sent by anonymous people.
He said the non-release of the film resulted in the circulation of pirated DVDs of the movie from other states.
Police said he sought holding a one-day protest in any place in the city either on August 16 or 17, they said.
However, police have denied permission for the fast, police said.
