Police today destroyed 148 illegal stone crushing machines in Rohtas district of Bihar.
Superintendent of Police M S Dhillon said that police destroyed 148 crushing machines and other equipment used in stone crushing at places like Gopi Bigaha and Jamuhar under Dehri police station limits of the district.
These crushing machines and other equipment were destroyed as part of the drive against illegal crushers operating in the area, he said adding that FIRs would be lodged against the persons on whose land these illegal crushing machines were installed.
The team which raided the illegal crushing sites included Dehri SDPO and SDO, Sasaram Dy SP, Sasaram DFO along with heavy police force.
Police also seized three litres of illegal liquor made from Mahua from one of the stone crushing sites, SP said.
