Police foils JKSRTCRWU march to civil secretariat in Jammu

Over 300 retired employees took out a protest rally in Jammu city and marched towards the civil secretariat here today.

Shouting anti-government slogans for failure to fulfil their demands, protesting employees were blocked by the police from moving ahead.

They were not allowed by the police to move to the Secretariat, where section 144 of CRPC has been imposed and rallies have been banned.

They later held protest demonstrations at Bikram Chowk Head quarters demanding release of 6th Pay commission arrears and settling of all of their claims.

JKSRTCRWU leader Sat Pal told reporters here that government and SRTC Authorities have been denied them 6th pay commission arrear despite promises made to us.

 

"We have asked the government and SRTC authorities to fulfil our demands by December 10 otherwise we will be forced to launch a major agitation," he said.
