Police today gave a clean chit to a youth who was accused of kidnapping an 18-year-old girl here.

On the basis of the statement of the girl in a court, the police has filed a report under section CrPc and given a clean chit to Parvez, Sub Inspector Narender Singh said.

The girl has said that she had gone with Parvez out of her own will and she was not raped or forced to convert her religion.

The couple, belonging to different communities, had allegedly eloped on August 25, owing to family opposition to their relationship and was traced from the Nepal border.

The girl's family had lodged a complaint against six persons including her boyfriend Pervez, his mother Praveen, brother Savaiz and Abhishek, Arpit, and Shubham for kidnapping the girl and forcing her to convert.

The youth was arrested on August 31, police said, adding, the girl was produced in court and her statement was recorded in which she denied the allegations.
