Police head constable caught while accepting bribe

Lokayukta police caught a head constable red handed here today for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 for settling a case.

Acting on a tip-off, the Lokayukta police caught head constable Ramhans Singh posted in Kishanganj police station for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from one Nilesh Thakur for "settling" a case against him.

Thakur was booked under the charges of manhandling, abuse and threatening to kill a person sometime ago and the head constable had allegedly demanded Rs 15,000 from him to "settle" the matter.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him.
