The Crime Branch of Delhi Police today conducted raids at different places in search of persons involved in the snooping racket, four of whom were arrested for allegedly selling illegally obtained Call Detail Records (CDRs) of thousands of people with the help of a UP Police constable.
The constable, Narendra Kumar, who was posted with surveillance cell at Kanpur IG office has been brought to Delhi and interrogated, a senior Crime Branch officer said.
He has not revealed anything so far but interrogation is on to find out if he acted alone or any other policemen were involved in illegally obtaining the CDRs, he said.

Raids were carried out to arrest Sunil Pathak and Vinod Chaudhary, operations heads of BLS Management Solutions. Its senior sales manager Sanjeev Chaudhary has been arrested along with other accused including Jaiveer, Aditya Sharma and Pankaj Tiwari, police said.
The company is reportedly registered with the MEA for Visa verification, the official said.
During investigation it has come to light that the gang was active for about two to three years. Jaiveer, who reportedly ran a media firm and a detective agency, used to provide phone numbers to Narender and bought CDRs from him. He was also in regular touch with Sanjeev Chaudhary, police said.
Aditya Sharma, a freelance detective, also used to buy and sell CDRs from Jaiveer. In 2013, Sharma was arrested in connection with illegally procuring CDRs of prominent personalities.
According to Crime Branch sources private detective agencies run by retired officials of different intelligence, enforcement and security organisations were found to be involved in buying CDRs at high rates from Jaiveer and BLS and provide it to their clients.
The role of private detective agencies based at Bhikaji Kama Place in south Delhi are also under scanner, sources said.
