A police inspector and a constable were caught today while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a person at Piploda police station of Ratlam district by the Lokayukta police.
"Ratlam's Piploda police station house officer, inspector Narendra Gome and constable Ramesh Tolia were caught red handed accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000," Ujjain Deputy Superintendent of (Lokayukta) Police (DSP) D S Shekawat told PTI.
He said that Gome had demanded the bribe from the father of a boy who had eloped with a girl, to drop a case against his son. The girl's parents had lodged a complaint with police claiming that their daughter was a "minor" and had been "kidnapped".

After marrying the girl, the boy returned home and informed the police that both his wife and himself were adults as well as furnished documents to prove it.
However, the inspector didn't budge and asked the boy's father to bring Rs 10,000 to get the case against his son quashed.
The boy's father lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta police who laid a trap and caught the inspector as well as his constable Tolia accepting the bribe.
Both have been booked under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption of Act.
