A police inspector was suspended for showing laxity in dealing with an abduction case of a minor boy in Kota who was found dead yesterday.

SHO of Jawahar Nagar, Haricharan Meena was suspended last night after dereliction in duty came to light. He was careless in dealing the case and did not take prompt action, IG Kota, Raviprakash said.

He also said that the DGP has announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh for information leading to the arrest of the murderer.

Meanwhile, IPS officer Amandeep Singh Kapoor has been made Superintendent of Police in Kota where the post was lying vacant after the former SP was arrested in May this year in a case of graft.

Kapoor, who was posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police Jaipur (East), was transferred late last night to Kota after the abduction and murder of 7-year old Rudraksh came to light.

Rudraksh was abducted when he was playing near his house in Kota on Thursday evening. He was found dead in a canal in neighbouring Bundi district yesterday morning.

ADG Crime Ajit Singh is camping in Kota and has formed teams of senior police officers and SHOs of several police stations to solve the case.
