Police issues prohibitory orders in twin cities until May 17

The police has banned assembly of five or more persons in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, as well as prohibited setting off firecrackers at public places until May 17.

Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma prohibited assembly of five or more persons in the limits of Hyderabad and Secunderabad under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code here today, in connection with counting of votes for Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly constituencies on May 16.

Orders prohibiting fireworks have been issued under relevant sections of the Hyderabad City Police Act.

These orders would remain in force from 0600 hours on May 16 to 0600 hours on May 17.
 

Those violating orders shall be prosecuted, the Hyderabad police chief said.
