Police making all efforts to rescue boy kidnapped in NGH

The police today said they are making all efforts to rescue a six-year-old boy, who was kidnapped by miscreants in North Garo Hills district on June 8.

"We are yet to make headway in the case though all efforts are being made to ensure his rescue. Our first priority is to ensure the safety of the boy," said district police chief, Dalton Marak when asked on the progress of the rescue efforts

The six-year-old son of Inderswell Sangma of Dangkong in North Garo Hills was kidnapped by the miscreants while he was sleeping in his house.

Immediately after news of the kidnapping, the local MLA of Kharkutta, Cherak W Momin, issued an appeal to the abductors for the safe release of the boy.
 

"It has taken us years to achieve a semblance of peace in the region and this one act has jeopardized it. I would appeal to the abductors of the 6-year-old to release the boy unharmed for the sake of the parents and peace in the region," said Cherak.

The kidnappings have been condemned local NGOs who also paid a visit to the aggrieved family after hearing of the incident.
