A police official was allegedly shot at by his neighbour after a heated argument at Swatantra Nagar locality in outer Delhi's Narela area, police said today.
The official has been identified as Shokeen Pal, who is deployed at a security unit in Supreme Court.
Pal received a bullet injury on his shoulder, said a police official.

According to the police, the incident was reported around 4 PM yesterday, when Pal was not on duty and had gone to a neighbour's office to settle a dispute with him and his son.
The neighbour, Vijender Kumar, is a property dealer in the area.
An argument broke out between the two and soon Pal's son also joined.
During the argument, Kumar allegedly pulled out a gun and fired two bullets, of which one hit Pal on his shoulder.
After Pal collapsed, his son and Kumar got involved in a scuffle.
Soon, relatives of both parties joined and Kumar and Pal's son were severely thrashed by members of opposite groups.
Neighbours called up the police and Pal was rushed to a hospital, where his situation is stated to be stable now.
Meanwhile, Kumar and Pal's son also had to be admitted in the hospital for their injuries.
A case of attempt to murder has been registered and the police are trying to ascertain the exact sequence of events.
Cross complaints have been received in connection with the incident, police added.
