Police medals to be conferred on six IPS officers in Bengal

For the first time in West Bengal, Police Medals would be conferred on IPS officers by the state government on Independence Day tomorrow.

Six IPS officers have been shortlisted for the award, a state Home Department notification said today.

The Chief Minister's Police Medal for Outstanding Service would be conferred on Kolkata Police Commissioner Surojit Kar Purokayastha, Bidhannagar Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar and IGP Western Zone Siddhi Nath Gupta.

Chief Minister's Police Medal for Commendable Service would be conferred on Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Division, Devendra Prakash Singh, Superintendent of Police, Burdwan district, S M H Meerza and Superintendent of Police, West Midnapore district, Bharati Ghosh, the notification said.
