Police nab five persons in murder case

Police today arrested five persons for their alleged involvement in the murder of a Zila Parishad member in Adampur area here.

Two accused, Ajay and Arun alias Minia, were arrested from Hisar railway station while the rest, Pradeep, Ravi alias Bablu and Sahil Khan were arrested from Sirsa railway station, a police spokesman said.

All accused hail from Adampur area. They were produced before Duty Magistrate here today who remanded them to police custody for three days, police said, adding, further investigations in the case are underway.

The body of Ishwar Bagla (44), a Zila Parishad member from Ward number 12 here, was found near a park along the railway tracks in the Mandi Adampur area on the night of December 22.
 

After the murder, traders and shopkeepers had observed a two-day strike and also gheraoed the Adampur police station demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.

Earlier, a case had been registered under Section 302 (murder) and other sections of the IPC in Adampur Police Station in connection with the murder.
