15 persons, including a police officer, were injured in a clash between local people and inmates of a dalit hostel at Madarpur in Darbhanga district today, police said.
The incident took place when local people clashed with some boarders of a dalit hostel for eve-teasing a girl in the wee hours.
Senior Superintendent of Police Kumar Ekle, who rushed to the spot with the District Magistrate Ravi Kumar, sustained injuries after being hit by a missile. Police used lathis to control the situation.
The situation in Madarpur locality and surrounding areas was tense, but under control even as the SSP was camping on the spot, police said.
