Police officer arrested for graft

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today arrested a sub-inspector for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs one lakh, in Bangur Nagar police station here.

The accused officer, identified as Valmik Vishwanath Chaudhary (29), was arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs one lakh to hush up a matter, ACB sources said.

The officer had demanded the money from the complainant, against whom police had received an application, for hushing up the matter.
