Police officer, junior clerk arrested on bribery charge

An Assistant Sub-Inspector of police and a junior clerk were today caught while allegedly accepting bribe in separate cases in Rajasthan and were arrested, Anti-Corruption Bureau said.

ASI Surgyan Chand, posted with Kho-Nagorian police station in Jaipur, was trapped when he was allegedly accepting the bribe of Rs. 5,000 from a person to release his tractor which was stolen and later recovered by the police.

In the other case, LDC of Jalore Nagar Parishad Ratan Singh was arrested for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 3,000, IG ACB Smita Srivastava said.

He had allegedly demanded the money from a person for releasing money for house construction under CM's BPL Housing Scheme. Singh had already taken Rs 2,000 and was caught today when he was allegedly accepting Rs 3,000, she said.
 

Both the accused have been arrested, she said.
