Police officials of Naxal-hit regions meet in Jharkhand

An inter-state co-ordination committee meeting of senior police officials of Jharkhand and Odisha was today held in Chaibasa, the district headquarter of Naxal-hit West Singhbhum district.

The officials including the DIG (Kolhan) R K Dhan, DIG (CRPF) Ashok Sanyal, Superintendent of Police of East and West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharswan and Simdega districts of Jharkhand and superintendent of police of Sundergarh and additional superintendent of police of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts of Odisha as well as the CRPF commandants of different battalion were present in the meeting.

Dhan said that it has been decided to intensify anti- Naxal operation simultaneously in the adjoining states to solve the Naxal menace as well as inter-state criminal activities.
 

Besides, the officials agreed to exchange information about the Naxal and criminal activities in the bordering area and maintain co-ordination to achieve desirable result, he said.

The objective was to make Kolhan and Ranchi regions of Jharkhand Naxal-free region, he added.
