Solar scam accused Saritha S Nair has filed a petition in Kerala High Court seeking relaxation of her bail conditions but police opposed the plea.

Nair in her petition has sought the court's permission to travel outside Kerala.

In its counter to the petition, police contended Nair's prayer seemed to have been made with 'malafide' intentions.

Her intentions may be different, which was evident from her statements appearing in the media, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kottayam, submitted.

Nair is accused in 29 cases and one of the conditions imposed by the court while granting her bail was that she will not travel outside Kerala without its permission.

"A lady involved in such a large number of cases, who is alleged to have siphoned off crores, cannot be permitted to travel for her whims and facies and also for her luxurious needs", the DSP said.

The scam pertains to duping of investors to the tune of several crores of rupees by Nair and her accomplices promising them solar power solutions.
