Police/PLFI exchange gunfire in Ranchi district

The police and the ultras of the People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) today traded gunfire at Lawagai village on the outskirts of Ranchi, the police said here.

There was a gun battle between the police personnel who were on patrol and the PLFI extremists, the police said.

The police fired eight to ten rounds forcing the ultras to retreat.

There was no casualty on any side, the police said.

Six rifles, five country-made guns and a carbine were recovered from the spot, the police said.
