They do not, however, believe that he was an addict himself. The authorities believe a 'likely scenario' is that Sage had been dealing in Hydrocodone (generic Vicodin), reported TMZ online.
They've been speaking to a source, who reckons that addiction has been ruled out for Sage primarily because of his weight.
Sage weighed around 188 pounds and according to their source, drug addicts are "almost always rail thin," whereas Sage was described as "pudgy."
Although no Hydrocodone was found in Sage's house, the authorities did find over 60 huge empty bottles that once appeared to have contained Hydrocodone.
They are apparently the kind of bottles that pharmacists would use to fill consumer scripts. Each one of those 60 bottles would once have housed around 500 pills, meaning that Sage possibly had around 30,000 pills in his possession at one point.
At the time of his death, however, they had all gone. LAPD detectives will now be trying to trace some of the bottles, using batch numbers, though its likely they came from overseas. Some small bags of white powder were found in Sage's room and will be tested in the lab to see whether or not it is also ground up Hydrocodone.
Father Sylvester Stallone has hired a sleuth to look into the details surrounding his son's death. The actor met up with the well-known private detective Scott Ross to find answers to the questions that he has regarding Sage's premature passing.
