Nineteen mobile numbers in the city have been put under surveillance after the CBI informed that they were procured using fake documents and were being used for "anti-national" activities, the Delhi Police said today.

"The CBI informed the Special Cell that 19 mobile phone numbers were activated using fake identity proofs and certificates. It alleged that the numbers were being used for illegal and anti-national activities. An FIR was filed yesterday," the police said.

One of the numbers was procured by a person who identified himself as Jafar Ahmed Mir. The person claimed he belonged to the Jama Masjid area and had submitted a photocopy of a voter identity card issued in Jammu and Kashmir to get the number, the police said.

Both the addresses were "fake", they said.

All the numbers have been put under surveillance, the police said.
