Police today raided Hindalaga Prison here after they were informed about a plan to murder a notorious criminal by jail inmates.
City Police Commissioner T G Krishna Bhat, who conducted the raid along with officials, told reporters that "we had information about a plan to murder one of the notorious criminals lodged in the jail, and hence we conducted the raid."
He however did not divulge name of the criminal and those who planned to murder him.
The police seized two mobile phones and four chargers in the cell, Bhat said.
