Police recover 300 years old idol

A special team formed by Nellore police today recovered a 300 years old 'panch-loha' (five-metal) Shiva idol and arrested 12 men of a gang which targeted temples.

Inspector general of police, south zone, N Sanjay said the idol had been stolen from Kasiviswandh temple in April.

Police today arrested 12 members of the gang and recovered the five-foot idol from a car. The idol was worth crores of rupees in the international market, according to police.
